  • International Finance Corporation

    Business Edge

    Business Edge is a practical and innovative training program developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to improve the performance and competiveness of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME). The program, which is offered by “la Société Financière Haïtienee de Développement(SOFIHDES)", consists of 20 independent training workshops that focus on SME needs in 5 key business management areas: personal productivity skills, marketing, human resource management, finance and accountability, and operational management.

    UNDP

    Peace Dividend Marketplace – Haiti (PDM-H) and the United Nations Development Programme - Haiti (UNDP - Haiti) joined forces via a memorandum of understanding on 1 July 2010. The MOU formalizes an already successful working relationship between the two organizations and will help UNDP carry out more local procurement. It will also contribute toward economic development, job creation and stability in Haiti. As a part of this arrangement, UNDP will begin using PDM-H’s database of qualified Haitian suppliers on an exclusive basis to identify local suppliers. The MOU affirms PDM-H’s role as a key partner for international organizations wishing to increase the volume of goods and services procured locally in Haiti.

    Inter-American Investment Corporation

    A member of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, the IIC has become a catalyst for fostering economic development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The IIC launched FINPYME ExportPlus Haiti to build capacity, help companies increase their competitive advantage, and provide tools to improve access to potential sources of financing for small and medium-sized enterprises. The project provides technical assistance workshops and training sessions on such topics as certification, management skills, and operational processes. PDT supports this initiative by identifying verified businesses that are eligible to participate in these training sessions and workshops. PDT also provides technical assistance and advice on the possibility of organizing other workshops for these entrepreneurs.

    The Ministry of Commerce and Industry

    The MCI is our partner in the Haitian government. The ministry formulates and implements promotional and developmental programs that support growth of the private sector. This includes promoting local businesses and improving the business environment. The ministry is also the Haitian Government Representative on the PDM-H Project Steering Committee.
